Advice to the Players

What: "To engage students and community to enjoy and benefit from the rich language and passionate action of Shakespeare’s plays as an exploration of our shared humanity.

How: By producing live performances and mentorship in a collaborative process that connects performing arts professionals, students and community members.

Why: We believe in the power of the literary and performing arts to connect community, transform individuals and inspire the next generation with the beauty of the English language."

"Advice To The Players employs a diverse company of Union and non-union professionals, as well as community and youth actors, in each production.

At Advice to the Players, we believe that diverse voices tell the best stories. We proudly cast actors of all ages, abilities, and gender identities in our productions, and we are conscientious about making our shows accessible to all audiences.

In addition, we are committed to being a leader of BIPOC representation in our community. We strive to ensure our company is more diverse than the surrounding region. We know that there is more work to be done and further to go with this vision, especially in leadership roles such as our board of trustees. The work of anti-racism and inclusion is ongoing; we welcome any and all feedback on how we can continue to improve."

Our hope is that we succeed in bringing you top-quality performances that are not only fun, but continue this centuries-old tradition of holding “the mirror up to nature
