Mission

The mission of the South Carolina Shakespeare Company is to produce professional quality theatrical productions for our city and state, with an emphasis on the plays of William Shakespeare. As part of this endeavor to enhance South Carolina’s cultural fabric, we are committed to presenting two free productions a year to the public in our city parks. We seek through these performances to unify our diverse population, to foster a culture that is increasingly excited and knowledgeable by live theatre, to provide educational programs in our schools and community that empower and illuminate active interest in language, art, and history, and to cultivate an audience that reflects the rich diversity of our state.
