Mission
The Atlanta Shakespeare Company at the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse is a quest for a living theater, a theater whose “raison d’être” is the communion of actor, audience, and playwright.
Vision
All of our work is guided by a single clarion principle that ASC reveres above all others: the voice of the playwright. This is true whether the company is presenting an original piece, an American classic, or a timeless masterpiece by William Shakespeare.
“I travel all over the world with my work. I have been to over 90 countries and across all those locations the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse in Atlanta has become my favourite place to spend an evening. As far as I can tell, it is completely unique. There is simply not another place remotely like it in the entire world. I would happily pay double the price of admission for the pleasure it has given me.”
